Southern Shopping

As many of my non-internet friends know, I was in Lousiana this week for the American Library Association convention. The city is now one of my favorites, and little had I ventured to guess prior to my plane landing at Louis Armstrong airport… a serious preppy destination!  While in the city, I saw a lot of tube dresses, wedge shoes, lots, and lots of pink and big earrings.  Magazine St. was by far my favorite shopping drag in town, in particular a little chunk of the uptown neighborhood known for its huge Victorian houses (think Anne Rice) that boasted a ton of very, very cute boutiques with reasonably priced clothes.

My faves:

Tomato (they carry a ton of great brands like Eight Sixty and in all sizes)

Hemline – several locations in the city, cute dresses.
