Best holiday present EVER!

I can’t believe this, even as I am typing it.  The Rockstar’s Daughter reached a #1 spot on iTunes last night.  I even waited to post until this morning and when I checked (first thing when I woke up, as in still in bed) it was STILL THERE.  Pinch me, please.  I am so overwhelmed by all of the emails, comments, etc.  This book has been my baby for so long; I am so glad that other people are loving it, as well.

Off to edit book #2!

  1. Hello Caitlyn! I just finished reading the rocks tars daughter, and I can gladly say it was amazing! I’m 16 years old, and I could really relate to your character Taylor (obviously not in the sense of having a famous father) because you wrote her to be so relatable and normal. Thank you so much for writing this book, it is now a favorite of mine! I will definitely recommend it to my friends. Although it is a fun teen novel, I actually learned many lessons from it and I thank you for that. From, Bridget

    • Hi Bridget,
Thanks so much for your note! I think the elements of the story about Taylor trying to fit in and not always being comfortable with what people expected of her are universal to the teenage experience. The entire boat episode with the Norfleets is loosely based on a horrible memory of my very own from high school, which to this day stands out in my mind in perfect detail because I felt like such an enormous nerd for refusing to go along with what my best friends were doing. Learning how to defend your boundaries when you’re a teenager is actually really important when it comes to going after what you want as an adult.
I’m glad you liked the book and I’m so happy you reached out to say hi!

  2. Hi Caitlyn I loved The Rockstars Daughter! Congratulations, I can’t wait to read the next installment in the series, I’m handing the IPad over to my 13 year old daughter so she can enjoy your book next. Funnily enough I just finished reading Duff McKagans It’s So Easy, Chase reminded me a little of him and I’m guessing you at minimum appreciate some of that fabolous late 80’s hard rock? Congratulations again and thanks for the great days entertainment you provided! All the best for 2012

    • Leanne,
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I lived in LA for a while and you guessed it: I really loved that whole Sunset Strip scene. One of my friends had told me that there’s a Denny’s on Sunset in Hollywood (it’s not there anymore) where the Crue always used to hang out after gigs, and whenever having brunch with friends I would insist on that Denny’s even though it was kind of gross! I really miss those days of glam rock and I had a lot of fun creating Chase.
      Happy New Year!
